If your phone feels like a hand warmer after twenty minutes of gaming, that's the processor working hard and the battery paying for it. Heat also makes the phone throttle, so the game actually runs worse.

The usual culprits are high frame rates, maxed graphics, and charging while playing. That last one is a big deal: charging and gaming together generates a lot of heat, so I avoid it whenever possible.

Take the case off during long sessions, keep the phone out of direct sun, and drop the settings we talk about elsewhere. A short break to let it cool actually helps performance more than people expect.

None of this means your phone is broken. Mobile chips just run hot under load, and a few habits keep both the device and your session going longer.
