About

UmbraBox started as a group chat between a few friends who kept sending each other screenshots of mobile games at odd hours. At some point we figured we might as well write it all down properly, so here we are with a small editorial site and too many charging cables.

We pick games across genres, install them on a mix of mid-range and older phones, and play for at least a few days before saying anything. Nobody here reviews a game after five minutes.

What we care about most is the everyday stuff: does the touch control feel natural, can you tune the graphics down when the battery is low, does it run fine on a phone that isn't brand new. Those details make or break a mobile game.

We're independent. Nobody pays us to like something, and if a game annoys us we say so.
